About the Role

We are seeking a creative, organized, and customer-focused retail leader to join our Oak Bay team as Department Lead – Gift & Home Décor. In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of the Gift & Home Décor department, ensuring exceptional merchandising standards, strong sales performance, and a welcoming, inspiring shopping experience for our guests. This position blends visual merchandising, sales leadership, inventory management, and guest service—ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic retail environment and takes pride in creating beautiful spaces.

Full-time 40hrs – Wage $24.00/hr

Key Responsibilities:

Drive sales and deliver exceptional guest service, ensuring every interaction reflects our brand.
Oversee daily department operations, including receiving, pricing & inventory management
Analyze sales trends and inventory levels to support merchandising and replenishment decisions.
Create inspiring, visual displays that reflect current trends and seasonal stories.
Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting department that enhances the guest experience.
Assist with in-store promotions and seasonal displays, helping to create a vibrant shopping environment.

Is this you?

Minimum 3 years of retail experience, preferably in home décor, lifestyle, or gift merchandising.
Strong visual merchandising skills with an eye for detail and design.
Proven ability to manage inventory and track sales performance effectively.
Excellent communication, fostering collaboration and motivation within the team.
Highly organized and self-directed, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and POS/inventory management systems.
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and seasonal peaks as required.
Comfortable with light lifting and extended periods of standing or walking.
