Receiving Lead Green Goods – Burnaby-Lougheed

GARDENWORKS is British Columbia’s largest independently owned garden centre company with 10 locations across Vancouver’s lower mainland, Vancouver Island, and South Okanagan.

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Receiver to support daily green goods receiving and inventory operations at our garden centre. This role is responsible for unloading deliveries, receiving, pricing, and managing product flow to the sales floor.

Key Responsibilities:
Receiving & Inventory Control

  • Receive, verify, and process incoming green goods shipments from vendors and internal transfers
  • Accurately check deliveries against invoices and packing slips
  • Identify, document, and communicate discrepancies, damages, or shortages to the buyer
  • Manage product flow from truck offloading to appropriate staging areas and onto the sales floor
  • Ensure product is handled, stored, and rotated correctly – including watering!
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, push, and carry up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Comfortable standing, walking, bending, crouching, and reaching for extended periods
  • Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions as required
  • Manual handling of carts, pallets, and dollies

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous receiving, warehouse, or retail inventory experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced, seasonal environment
  • Clear communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members
  • Basic computer skills (data entry, printing, scanning)

This is a full-time position; compensation $23 - 25/hour
