We’re looking for an organized and hands-on retail leader with a passion for gardening, guest service, and operational excellence. As the Department Manager for Garden Supplies, you’ll oversee the daily operations of the department — ensuring efficient inventory flow, exceptional guest experiences, and well-presented, fully stocked displays that reflect the GARDENWORKS brand.
This is a dynamic, fast-paced role ideal for someone who loves retail operations, teamwork, and helping guests find the right tools and supplies to grow successfully. Full-time (40hrs), wage 25.00/hour.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Garden Supplies & Pottery departments.
- Lead and execute product flow processes including receiving, pricing, preparing product for the sales floor, and merchandising displays.
- Ensure tables, fixtures, and displays are fully stocked and presentation ready.
- Use the POS system for receiving inventory, creating purchase orders, and running sales reports.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through organization, replenishment, rotation, and stock management.
- Monitor inventory movement and sales trends, communicating opportunities and replenishment needs to the Purchasing team.
What You Bring
- Minimum 3 years of retail experience, ideally in garden supplies, hardware, or home improvement.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable analyzing sales and inventory data.
- Ability to work collaboratively with store leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and seasonal peaks as required
- Physically able to perform tasks - lifting (up to 30 lbs), standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Valid Forklift and Pesticide Dispensing certification—or willingness to complete paid training.
